If you have ever ridden the Jungle cruise, you know what I am talking about, its a boat ride down several famous jungle rivers in the world such as the Congo and the Nile to see several animatronic animals. I wont give away the climax of this famous Disney attraction but I will say that I have never thought about what goes into maintaining it. The ride as I mentioned and I am sure you knew is through a Jungle and I always just assumed that they planted it once and let it go. I mean, I knew there was some stuff that had to be done such as making sure a tree branch wouldn't whack a guy in row four each time the boat goes through the attraction and making sure that guests could clearly see the animatronics throughout the attraction as well as concealing backstage Disney, but I never thought about all the work that goes into making a Jungle looking like a Jungle for each guest that has passed through sinse the attraction opened in Disneyland in 1955. This video shows how much work is put into the attraction to make your riverboat ride through the Jungle feel like an actual riverboat ride through the Jungle
Enjoy!
Shown to the below is the construction of the Jungle Cruide at Walt Disney World in Florida.
The Jungle Cruise in Disneyland was one of the original rides for Disneyland, opening along with the park on July 17th 1955. Today, it is a Disney icon. It is featured at all Disney Resorts except for Disneyland Paris. (though Disneyland Paris had planed to build a jeep ride through a jungle protected by a glass canopy to protect it from harsh winter climates of Paris. The ride would have passed by a scene with king Louie sing "I Wanna be Like You" from the Jungle Book as well as being chased by tigers before coming back to the boat dock.) The picture shown is of the Jungle Cruise in Disneyland in Anaheim.
